Michelin Supercar Paddock Returns to Goodwood
The 2018 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed came to a close on the weekend and one of the highlights of the event was the Michelin Supercar Paddock.
Multiple supercar unveilings and celebrity guest appearances were enjoyed by spectators at the Paddock, with an incredible line-up of supercars leaving eyes wide and mouths open in amazement.
Among the outstanding supercars gracing the Paddock later this month was the Apollo Intensa Emozione, featuring a whopping 6.3-litre V12 engine; the ultra-stylish Boreas hypercar capable of a top speed of 263mph; and Brabham’s debut hypercar – the ferocious BT62 – powered by a mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated 5.4-litre V8 engine.
Meanwhile the latest offering from Porsche 911 specialists Singer, the ‘Dynamics and Lightweighting Study’ was debuted to the world at Goodwood. The DLS is the most extreme version of Singer’s highly modified and restored 911s, with the 964’s original 243bhp 3.6-litre flat-six engine tweaked to a 4-litre unit with four-valve heads and a whopping 493bhp.
Other notable cars on display in the Paddock included the Ferrari Portofino, the Koenigsegg Agera RSN, the Lotus Evora GT430, and the Fenyr Supersport.
Michelin Supercar Paddock presenter, Vicki Butler-Henderson, said: “I am so excited to see these amazing cars on our stage. Some of the cars on display are the most intense and extreme examples of automotive brilliance.”
Away from the Supercar Paddock, the Michelin Main Stand also played host to a variety of car unveilings, with the silk coming off a number of cars housed within the three-tier public motorhome.
Goodwood Festival of Speed took place from 12-15 June.
