Latest Lifestyle News: Pininfarina join the Electric Car Revolution

Luxury cars brands have been relatively slow about joining the electric revolution – and for understandable reasons. The USP of many high-end automakers has always been the power of the engine, and the noises it emits, but with electric cars that key attraction is inevitably lost.

But as we move inexorably towards a more eco-friendly world, luxury brands are starting to see the bigger picture. The latest to do just that is renowned Italian car design firm Pininfarina, designers of some of the most iconic Ferraris ever made. Recently the company announced its plans to create its first luxury electric cars and it is this story that we’ve focussed on in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, we report on a brand new Richard Mille timepiece designed to mark the 2018 edition of the Voiles de St. Barth regatta, and the world’s most expensive number plate that has recently been put up for sale for an eye-popping $20 million.

There’s also news on Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet who have designed a luxury ski hotel in Switzerland, and the upcoming London Elegance car show that’s set to feature what is widely considered the word’s finest car.

Finally, we bring you news on an innovative partnership between the Marriott hotel group and one of the world’s most popular music festivals, Aston Martin’s announcement that they are to revive their famous DBS Superleggera model, and a beautiful new watch by Jaeger-Lecoultre that honours a painting legend.

That’s all for now. Until next time, enjoy our newsletter and have a wonderful week.
