BMW Add Power and Elegance to Latest X3 Model

Since the launch of the first BMW X3 in 2003, the German manufacturer has sold almost 1.5 million of the models.

During the interim years, premium mid-sized SUVs have become one of the fastest growing categories in the car industry.

The enduring success of the SUV sector has encouraged BMW to create a third generation X3 for 2018, which is perhaps the most impressive yet, boating a notably more confident, aggressive stance.

The new entry-level X3 20d comes with 18 inch alloy wheels, climate control, leather seats and satnav, while the X-line package adds bigger wheels, a more purposeful exterior trim, sporty front seats and a bigger fuel tank.

The top-of-the range M-Sport model comes with upgraded interior and exterior trims, a digital dashboard and head-up display, and 20in alloys.

A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine produces 185kW and 350Nm, which is paired with an eight-speed "sport" automatic, sending its power to all four wheels, and trimming the sprint to 100km/h down to 6.3 seconds.

There's also been a technology overhaul, loaded with clever features (including BMW's latest autonomous technology) borrowed from the new BMW 5-Series. Other features include wireless phone charging, an updated touch screen and, on the 30i and 30d, a new digital driver's binnacle.

On the interior, the car’s seats are upholstered in a new, softer grade of leather, and iptional blue stitching, sewn into the dashboard as well as the seats, adds another layer of style and sophistication.

Pricing for the entry level version of the brand new BMW X3 is £37,900.
