Latest Lifestyle News: Home is where the heart is for luxury connoisseurs

While Airbnb continue to be market leaders in the home sharing sector, a number of other companies have popped up over the last couple of years to capitalise on this growing consumer demand.

This week, we turn the spotlight on one of them. The brainchild of Thomas Bennett and Jorge Munoz, Stay One Degree enables global travellers seeking authentic home-from-home experiences, to rent directly from their network of connections within an online members’ community. You can read a full profile of the company in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, we review a beautiful timepiece by Frank Muller whose design was inspired by our oceans, as well as the brand new McLaren Senna, which is being billed as the carmaker’s most powerful road-legal track model in its history.

There’s also news from French jewellery house Cartier who have given a sneak preview of some of their latest watch creations ahead of the SIHH trade fair that takes place in January, a lavish new bar and boutique space by IWC in Geneva that harks back to the days of traditional gentleman’s clubs, and – just in time for Christmas – the launch of Apple’s most expensive ever computer.

Finally, there are reports on a new Tag Heuer timepiece inspired by young American actress Bella Hadid, and the upcoming opening of a stunning new luxury resort in the Moroccan capital of Marrakesh.

That’s all for now. There’ll be a special Christmas Day luxury newsletter arriving in your inbox next week, but we’ll understand if it takes you a little longer than usual to get round to opening it.

In which case, we’ll take this opportunity to say have a very merry Christmas.
